We all have important values and ideas, things we care about and want to share. Sometimes we feel our ideas can even change
the world, and we want to let other people know how they can join in and make all our lives better.
KICK which stands for Kids Involved In The Community was created by a group of kids in a before and after school program.
After organizing various fundraisers and adopting a second child from Africa, the kids decided that it was time to become
more involved in the community.
When asked what aspects of the community the children thought were in need of help, the kids came up with a
list including: Graffiti, Gangs, Poverty in our Community, Bullying, Littering, and Stealing.
By raising their awareness on these issues they will be able to inform their peers about all of the above topics. The
kids also decided to raise money and reach reach out to the community.

Kids Involved In The Community
Our
deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not
our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who
are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about
shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to
make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light
shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others.
